Ash

profiles

They were three snotty nosed little punks from Kilpatrick, refusing to play with Pearl Jam because
they were finishing their A levels and drowning in gallons of booze. They released a brace of genius
two and a half minute pop songs, went totally insane, nearly split up about eight times, got a girl
in and made a brilliant but universally hated second LP that sounded like The Jim Carroll Band on
even MORE downers. The they went away again, went mad again, drowned in gallons of booze again, the
came back with another load of ace three minute pop classics and everyone forgave them. They are now
about the only band from heir era that continue to excite and ROCK on the same level. Despite the
fact that Tim Wheeler still can't sing. RAH!
