LEAFCUTTER JOHN, Hackney (planet mu)
Generating roughed up textures, smooth ballads and pounding beats, Leafcutter John takes you on a journey from his tits to your ears.
ALEXIS O'HARA, Toronto
An outfitted girl appears, seemingly in a trance. She plugs herself in. Sounds produced entirely by her mouth - are looped, layered and manipulated creating an ephemeral soundscape. She is robosapien, a (wo)man melded to her machines.
MUGISON, Iceland (Lifelike)
Mugison is a one-man band from Iceland - a singer-songwriter with a computer, described as being somewhere between Tom Waits and Mum. He released his excellent debut "Lonely Mountain" last year on Lifelike, part of the Magic and Accident organisation (who happen to be state51 conspirators).
