EARTHLY DELIGHTS FOR THE DISCERNING AND DEMANDING LISTENER
Jon Tye set up Lo Recordings in 1995 with the release of the LP 'Extreme Possibilities', a collection of material by Tye himself alongside friends such as Luke Vibert (Wagon Christ), Omni Trio, Scanner, David Toop and others.

The labels second release, Collaborations (’96), was groundbreaking in its fusion of guitar based and electronic music. Although not a new, idea, the way it was done and the range of artists involved created a new set of possibilities. David Toop collaborating with Bedouin Ascent, David Thomas of Pere Ubu fame teaming up with Tye himself and Peter Smith as MLO, Funki Porcini and Mike Flowers, they were odd collaborations that really worked.

This formula was continued on Lo Recordings third compilation 'United Mutations' ('96), this featured more known names from across the musical spectrum such as Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and Aphex Twin as well as tracks from artists such as Tortoise, Vibert, Springheel Jack and the Mellowtrons amongst others.

Lo Recordings has also presented club nights such as the legendary Scratch (in association with The Leaf Label and The Wire), which featured many more collaborations including Squarepusher / Talvin Singh, Derek Bailey / Hairy Butter and performances from acts like Ui, Tarwater, Cylob, Thid Eye Foundation, Stereolab and others and Hub a live collision of free jazz, electronics and whatever else featuring Tom Jenkinson, Eddie Prevost, Luke Vibert, DJ Req, David Toop and others.

Lo continue to experiment and diversify. Providing an eccentric selection of earthly delights for the discerning and demanding listener.
