Fluorescent at Public Life 2nd December 2003

news from D.O.R.

Fluorescent at Public Life, Tuesday December 2nd 2003: Funkturm (live), Apollon (live) with DJs Timothy Evans, Phil England and Nomadstation a presentation of “Air” and the D.O.R cinema.
-
D.O.R presents Fluorescent every other month at Public Life in London.

Each night will feature D.O.R's (un)usual blend of programmed electronics, ambiences and esoteric breaks, via a mixture of live performance and djs.

Tuesday December 2nd features live improvised mixtape madness from Funkturm analogue manipulation and noise texturing from Apollon, alongside DJ sets from D.O.R artist Nomadstation, Wire staff member and Resonance FM broadcaster Phil England exploring a political edge with a range of recorded sound and Timothy Evans (Caustic Visions / Funkturm) . The night will feature a presentation of the new D.O.R multimedia release “Air” and also host the D.O.R cinema, with it’s mixture of experimental film and video footage by various label contributors.

The venue is the re-purposed public toilet near Liverpool Street and
Brick Lane, making this truly an event of eclectic minimalist sounds from the underground.

Public Life features excellent atmosphere, acoustics and PA, and is situated outside Christchurch, Spitalfields at 82a Commercial St, London E1, England.

Admission is free. 8.00pm until late. Live performances @ 9.45 pm.
