we're back and we're hot hot hot

news from moshi moshi records

so how's eveyone's new year so far? is the doom getting the better of you? the euphoria of your new xmas pants wearing off? well, don't worry, hot chip are doing their best to lift our spirits by taking their R'n'Bedroom electro on the road. and we're making the most of their youthful enthusiasm by working them like victorian chimney sweeps.

next gig is on the 29th jan at the old blue last on the corner of curtain and great eastern rds. there then follows what will be an eventful night at the monarch in dirty old camden town on feb 4th supporting pink grease and the fall, yes that's the fall! and then next day there's the moshi moshi night at the buffalo bar alongside half-cousin and chikinki. that's three in a week, you gotta make one of them.

each time i see them they get better. which made me think it might be a good idea to wait till they play their last ever gig before i see them again. if you see what i mean. but since they're that much younger, and my cough ain't getting any better its a bit of a gamble. so i'll be there again. and so should you.

"the glorious sound of a group treading brave new ground" nme

the wonderful pete ingo, never a man to play one gig when two will do, is kicking off his 2004 tour by doing just that. on sat 31st jan he'll be playing an afternoon gig at the rota in notting hill. before jumping in his private helicopter and shooting across london to appear at the world's end pub in finsbury park. this is something of a homecoming gig for pete, in so much as finsbury park is his err... home. and of course its the home of moshi moshi. and incidently the first time we've ever done a gig there - something to do with shiting and doorsteps. just remember after you've gone we have to live with these people.

then, all going well, and if we can still walk the streets, on monday the 2nd its the world famous moshi moshi pop quiz. faltering fullback pub, perth rd, n4. 8.30pm onwards, cash prizes, a drunken rambling compere, busted p.a. and a quiz master offering answers for drugs.
