Ten years is a longtime in the music industry, so when a label that has stuck to their resolutely uncommercial roots makes it into double figures that's generally a good reason to celebrate. When you're talking about Lo Recordings who in their 10 year history have championed everything from hard edged electro to blissful ambience, avant-garde rock to library music and funk rarities, you've got one hell of a good excuse to throw a massive party.

So that's what we've done, on Friday November the 18th, we celebrate 10 years of musical innovation down at The Poke, with a stellar line-up of artists from the label, plus one or two like minded souls and DJs who have championed the label over the years.

A truly eclectic party spread over two railway arches, we are proud to present everything from the acclaimed art-rock of The Chap to the deranged electro pop of Cursor Miner, on the way taking in some of the leading lights of today's leftfield music scene, Radio 1's Rob Da Bank, XFM's Nick Luscombe, Noodles mainman Si Begg and the reigning bastard pop king Osymyso, alongside stars of tomorrow such as Nathan Fake and Secondo.

The Poke returns after the sellout Planet-Mu special in May with a stellar lineup. we have live sets from the wonderful Exile, with his mentalist fusion of mutant drum and bass and electronica returning to celebrate the launch of his Pro-Agonist LP on Mu and the legendary B12 for only their 2nd London show in 8 years, joined on the decks by the equally elusive Stasis, the deep bleeps and bass of Unique 3, the funky minimal techno of dub KULT, Snapmouth's incendiary bitchpop and the acid horse delights of Wheels Instead of Hooves.

In room 2 we raise a glass to cheer the release of 'London Electrics vol. 1' a 12 track compilation from the newly formed London Electrics collective, a collaboration between Ai Records, Expanding, Furthur, Highpoint Lowlife, Seed, Suburb and Uncharted Audio. Playing live we have sets from Confutatis, Cursor Miner, Fisk Industries and Jacen Solo, whilst Digitonal, John Power and Sun Ov spin the platters that matter.

Jon Kennedy + Bussetti Live

[ text about: Jon Kennedy + Bussetti Live ]

LIVE:
Jon Kennedy (Grand Central)
Bussetti (Realise)

DJs:
Greg Belson (Hogwash)
John Power (Furthur)

With his third album released on the 5th of April ('Useless Wooden Toys' on Grand Central) Furthur are delighted to bring Jon Kennedy back to London with his full six piece band in tow. Having wowed crowds at last summer's festivals and at gigs around the country, the Kennedy live show is an unmissable melting pot of funk fuelled beats and burning soul.

"Sonically and emotionally... inhabits a sublime world all of its own. Unmissable." Ambient Music Guide

In support we have one of London's most exciting up and coming bands, Bussetti. Widely tipped for the top by the likes of XFM, Time Out, the organisers of the Big Chill and Ninja Tune/Solid Steel's DK, Bussetti have sold out a string of gigs in the capital bringing their distinctive and experimental mix of hiphop, leftfield beats, jazz and funk out of the studio and onto the stage.

"They're superb live." Time Out, London

"Extremely inventive and truly wonderful live." The Guardian

DJ support comes from veteran DJ and all round funk oracle Greg Belson and Furthur supremo John Power.
