run + After-Dinner Xmas session

[ text about: run + After-Dinner Xmas session ]

With the end of yet another year approaching and christmas on it’s way it seemed criminal not to organise a celebratory night of house, techno and general wrongness!
To that end we have a found a nice down to earth basement in Dalston / Stokey where we can all go and get merried up for one more session before the year is over.

Music on the night will be courtesy of the run and After-Dinner residents who will be spinning a mixture of house, dub, techno and minimal with a couple of live sets from the mighty J-Lab and Alex Fisher (best live house set we’ve heard all year – on nothing but hardware!!).

So, we’re keeping it easy for this one – easy on the travel and easy on the wallet – £3 b4 midnight and £5 therafter!

Line-up:

-----

* 10pm – 6am
* 66 Stoke Newington Road, London N16 7XB
* £3 b4 midnight / £5 after

See you there!

Netaudio'08 Official After Party

[ text about: Netaudio'08 Official After Party ]

As Netaudio'08 starts winding down on the final night at Shunt, the Netaudio London after party will be getting ready for a storming session all the way from 3am through to mid day at the Whipping House in Cable St.

Musical hosts for the night will be the Netaudio London residents and friends as well as a special appearance from Marko Jux all the way from Australia’s mighty fine net label PinkSilver. Marko has been writing music for the past 3 years, all of this motivation came from exposure to the awesome music scene he discovered in the EU from 2000 – 2004.
Marko’s productions bring together a mixture of deep techno & isolated grooves; with an aim to produce post-modernistic music in order to create emotion through sound, scape and reduction. Now adding to his performance with Rane Serato and Ableton Live, Marko has created a platform to play his own music, his own way.

* Alex Fisher [live] (After-Dinner)

[ text about: run vs. After-Dinner w/ Andy Vaz [live] (yore-records / Background Records / Sound Variation – Cologne) ]

After a short break for summer runsounds will be back collaborating with our regular partners in crime – After-Dinner!

Once again we’ve found another great little venue where we can rest our records and synths for the night – the fabulous Whipping House in the Cable St Studios complex. This is shaping up to become a great spot with real character and an absolutely fantastic sound system!

In addition to the debauched techno and house of the runsounds and After Dinner residents we’re very happy as always to welcome back a regular guest of ours and pretty much annual resident: Andy Vaz.

Andy will be showcasing a brand new live set full of deep house and techno goodness which he has just successfully taken on the road to the United States and Japan where the response was immense! For someone who has been involved in music for so long, Andy is as on the ball as ever with his current roster of labels as well as his own productions – his latest Yore release with Patrice Scott being a prime example!

rungrooves with Alton Miller (Peacefrog / Planet E / Yore - Detroit)

[ text about: rungrooves with Alton Miller (Peacefrog / Planet E / Yore - Detroit) ]

run are proud to present a new twist to our winding little trip through electronic music with rungrooves: a little offshoot delving into the deeper side of techno and house music with the focus firmly fixed on basslines & rhythms – the groove.

To help mark the occasion we have the legend that is Alton Miller – a man with some serious musical history. From running clubs in detroit (namely the legendary Music Institute ) to releasing a huge range of music on some of the planets dopest and most respected record labels ( KDJ, Planet E, Moods & Grooves, Trackmode, Peacefrog, Mahogani Music, Guidance etc etc) to international dj sets – this man is House Music and he’ll be playing an exclusive UK date for us as he winds up his European tour. For the full bio please visit http://www.runsounds.com.

Our second guest for the evening is Neurhythmics head honcho and a very familiar face to Smallfish regulars: Juergen Junker. As well as running his label & doing stints behind the counter at the mighty fine Smallfish, Juergen has also been a resident at LOST (in the Purple area) & SPACEBASE, and has played at clubs like Plastic People, 93Feet East, and parties like Hoxton Pimps, Sud, and LaserMagnetic. Expect some disco, house, his own edits and tracks, with a healthy dose of Chicago’s jack.

This is designed to be a more intimate and relaxed event so we’ll be starting & finishing earlier than usual but that doesn’t mean we wont be partying as hard – so come down and join us for an evening of deep deep house grooves.

Line-up >>>

Saturday 28th June
Gramaphone (with new soundsystem!)
60-62 Commercial St,
Spitalfields,
London, E1 6LT

Whether it be House, Techno, Dub or Electronica, Sushitech have always been supporting good music and trying to evolve.
Ayone who has been following this label recently will know that they have been putting out some superb material and reintroducing the techno world to the joys of some classic techno artists such as Russ Gabriel and Steve O’Sullivan from Ferox and Mosaic respectively. Following on from successful sets at T-bar, Watergate / Panorama Bar to name but a few clubs, you can expect a mixture of deep driving techno, quality minimal and some classic house and techno from Yossi and Koljah as they battle it out back to back.

This will be their first official outing but having heard a preview of their set it’s clear that these two bring out the best in each other when it comes to performing together! Next up are two of the Ugly Funk djs Sikaflex and Sigma with an original and uncompromising mix of no-skool tekno and electro. Finally we have Uberdog of Toxic Dancehall and Werk notoriety whose different sets mix up acid house, dub step, techno, electronica, minimal and a whole load more…

run 3rd Birthday w/ Dan Bell (7th City, Accelerate - Detroit) +++

[ text about: run 3rd Birthday w/ Dan Bell (7th City, Accelerate - Detroit) +++ ]

Three years down the line and there's been a few twists and turns along the way but we've managed to pull off numerous parties in a variety of weird and wonderful locations with more than thirty artists playing live and djing. Now, we think that's as good an excuse as any to throw another party to celebrate, and to give us a helping hand with proceedings we're very happy to welcome back Andy Vaz and his 303 and we're also extremely honoured to have Detroit maestro Daniel Bell gracing the decks!

DANIEL BELL (7th City / Accelerate – Detroit)
ANDY VAZ [live] (Yore / A Touch of Class / background – Cologne)
Alex Fisher [live] (After-Dinner)
Chris Box (run / motronic)
Andi Sparks (After-Dinner / Netaudio London)
Russell Skellon (run / motronic)

Daniel Bell.... I'm not sure that this man from Detroit needs much of an introduction as his productions, record labels and dj sets are so well known and loved. The fact that his music has influenced so many people (Hawtin and Josh Wink amongst countless others) and musical genres and that it still sounds so fresh and innovative today makes Daniel the perfect guest for our third birthday!

Whilst Andy is primarily known for his long standing work with the supreme and influential 'background records', it's a couple of his other labels which are taking up all of his energy and gaining the most attention at the moment - the lovely, deep housey A Touch of Class' and the recently founded Yore Records with its timeless & excellent techno and house. With some 15 years of buying Detroit and Chicago house records under his belt, his record collection is really starting to show it's influence more than ever in his productions and in his choice of releases on his labels. With live synths, a 303, 606, infectious grooves and endless passion - his live set is shaping up to do some proper dancefloor damage!

Providing musical support for our special guests will be the run and After Dinner resident djs: Chris Box, Russell Skellon & Andi Studer with full live set back up from Alex Fisher.

So, we have the ideal line up for our birthday, now all that's left is the perfect venue...and yet again we've searched high and low, followed leads and chased up contacts to find another sweet little space to party! Anyone familar with any of the Stoke Newington parties we did will know how great the vibe was in such a free and intimate space and I think we've managed to go one better with this new space! Although details of the location will have to be kept under wraps for the time being, rest assured that you wont be disappointed with this homely old warehouse space as we get back to our roots and get down for what promises to be a classic party!

In order to stay informed about party location and to get the low down on some ltd concession tckets for this please sign up to the run mailing list [http://www.runsounds.com] as capacity is going to be very limited for this one!!
