[ text about: ATVS1984 w/ Hopen + Special Guest, Pain Struck Stanley Dumb, Rootsix ]

The void is back at The Others for another installment of electronic delight with:

Hopen + Special Guest

Pain Struck Stanley Dumb

Rootsix

DJ support Sol and Kiersty

Cost: £3 before 10pm/NUS, £4 otherwise

Hopen + Special Guest (Wagon Repair/Creaked)

Cut Up Techno

Internationally acclaimed producer Hopen is playing live with a special guest. Between them they have released on Kompakt, Wagon Repair, Creaked to international critical acclaim and DJ support from Jennifer Cardini, Nathan Fake and Appleblim to name a few. Their live sound is experimental noise meets twisted techno and electro.

Pain Struck Stanley Dumb (Wide Records)

Real Electro Bass

This duo of electro producers are also known as Luke Olliviere and Christopher D Ashley also of Sunday Best records, they joined up to make the filthiest electro bass they could as a side project to CDA's synth pop solo project. With DJ support from Dave Clark and Radioactiveman (the latter also contributed to their EP) you know their sounds are going to be heavy and rinse the bass bins.

Rootsix (Concrete Plastic)

Full On Ambience Beats

Rootsix (aka Simon Mills) caught our attention with his debut EP on Concrete Plastic this year, the full ambient sounds but also crunching along nicely to a Detroit Techno inspired groove.

Sol

Sol broadcasts monthly blistering techno podcasts via his website and recently set up a project with Sarah Sample called Sol and Sample in Brighton. They have recently had a track released on Russian net-label Shovel's latest compilation.

Avoiding the Void Since 1984 GOES FORTH

October’s ATVS1984 is moving venue with this fantastic range of electronic music acts to feast your ears and feelings on

PIXELH8
Chiptune master extraordinaire
http://www.myspace.com/pixelh8

Pixelh8 is a void favourite. Not only does he make chip tune music for our listening pleasure, but he has hand engineered synthesiser cartridges for the Nintendo Gameboy and DS along with software used by the likes of Damon Albarn (BBC Olympics 2008 Monkey) and Imogen Heap which has quite rightly got him the attention of Radio One DJ Huw Stephens at who’s SWN festival Pixelh8 will be making an appearance of this Autumn.

SCRASE
Dubstep electro techno wonk
http://www.myspace.com/scrasemusic

Scrase has been fine tuning his ambient electronic sounds from when I first came across him at Reading’s infamous electronic music rave night Fractals. He’s been churning out the goods with releases on Audio Aubergine and most recently Organic Analogue Records with his Platz EP with a more dub step influenced take on down tuned techno.

ROBOT FOR BRAINS
http://www.myspace.com/robotforbrains

For the past 10 years since the age of 13 Robot For Brains has been collecting music making equipment wiring it up and delaying sounds as part of his fascination with electronic music constructions.

Former DJ resident of BotBox at the Bethnal Green working man’s club even supporting Fingathing on one of his UK tours.

Robot for Brains is soon to be featured on label compilations for ARP records alongside the likes of Boxcutter and Italtek and Swishcotheque records with his own EP to follow soon on that label.

Plus DJs Kiersty and Dr. Bibliotheque will be filling in the gaps with old skool, electronica, techno and jungle sounds.

Entry is a cheeky squirt of £3 all night
