“Dream Scream” b/w “Funeral Girl” is the first new release from Daniel Johnston in over 4 years. After the slight disappointment of his Atlantic Records musical outing (largely a result of unsympathetic major label treatment) these new songs herald a return to form for the once prolific Austin, Texas based singer/songwriter.

Daniel has composed and recorded more than 300 songs, released on some 15+ albums between 1980 and the present day. He’s gained many high-profile fans along the way - Kurt Cobain, Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Jad Fair and Sonic Boom, to mention just a few.

“Dream Scream” is a haunting balad of unrequited love... “I thought there was love... what a fooool I was!”. And “Funeral Girl”... well, it would appear that Daniel is still obsessed with his old themes: funerals, and a certain girl called Laurie...
