Human Distortion

Human Distortion

This white label CD EP - also available on 12" - represents the first appearance on wax for some time of 16-17, the thrash-jazz collective led by Swiss bass clarinettist and composer Alex Buess, whose ranks include bassist Damien Bennett and drummer Michael Wertmueller. As with the group's last album, Gyatso, Human distortion has been produced by Techno Animal's Kevin Martin. Working under the pseudonym "The Bug", Martin has taken the group's frenzied improvisations, sliced 'n' diced 'em and produced the kind of jazz/drum and bass mutant that sits comfortably on Alec Empire's DHR. File between Albert Ayler and Atari Teenage Riot, and watch out for the full album due this summer. [read]
