press release - Lo And Behold

Yet another compilation in the long line of endless compilations full of generic sounding fodder for the masses. But wait! Could it be that this one is somehow different and features innovative cuts from the past, present and future? Of course!

Lo Recordings brings you a compilation chock full of prime time head food. If, at first, it seems devoid of any clear 'mission statement', repeated listens will prove that the exhortation to open your mind is an apt one in these increasingly grey days of conformity and timidity. Selected from recent, current and forthcoming releases on Lo Recordings, you may not like everything but you'd be insane not to like some of it.

Russian electronic abstraction courtesy of EU in their Chrismass Baubles guise. A fine example of the genius that is Nino Nardini from Barry 7's Connectors album. Psychedelic, electronic prog lunacy from They Came From The Stars (I Saw Them) in a mellow mood. A fine slice of most noteworthy electronic pop from Cursor Miner. 'Lullaby' is from Mileece, taken from her surround-sound masterpiece Formations. Serious 60s funk 45 action with Jerry & The Medicine Men from the totally dope Because You're Funky album. The Chap (formed by Johannes from Karamasov) with an inspired fusion of chopped beats, strings, piano and guitar. An exclusive live cut of mental jazz madness by the mighty Tom 'Squarepusher' Jenkinson alongside his brother Ceephax, DJ Req and others. Heavy space lounge action courtesy of Heinz Funk from the widely acclaimed Nuggets: Luke Vibert's Selection. Rock chick action from LA with the lovely Dee & Laura produced by Warn Defever of His Name Is Alive. An exclusive collaboration between Rothko and Susumu Yokota. The always awesome Si Begg in a mess with Hairy Butter. And finally, a nice chunk of music concrete from iueke - probably someone very famous but we can't say who. (Any similarities to one of the tracks on the new Aphex Twin album are purely coincidental)

"If you don't dig it you're probably braindead - or a narrow minded uptight sycophantic motherfucker at least. Bon appetit."
