press release - Stupid Games

Asian Dawn is the long awaited record label from one of London's key figures in the British Asian Breakbeat/Underground scene. Regularly seen at top club nights spinning his trade mark 'Phat beats' with the hint of Asian vibes. He has secured a strong reputation as one of the leading practitioners of urban club music.

Previously signed to Outcaste Records which received a Time Out Live Awards. Mo can be found on many acclaimed albums including The Outcaste New Breeds. Now setting up his own label to promote urban fusion breakbeat, he has keen interest from the international scene with many developing artists in the pipeline.

Asian Dawn sees Mo teaming up with some of the freshest talents doing the circuit at the moment. It features the sweet soulful voice of Sanchita Farruque and the hypnotic tabla breaks of Aref Darvesh, both from the Mercury nominated band of Nitin Sawhney. We also here some Rough bass lines from Gypsy Jazz's George Trebar on the Electric and Double Bass. Classical singer Sonia Mehta recently featured on Asian Dub Foundations 'Enemy of the Enemy', delivers the softest classical vocals with Italian punk drummer Francesco Brini creating the most intricate drumming ever. Altogether, 11 artists exploring the meaning of a diverse London club scene, delving from the musical melting pots of East London to some of the funkiest flutes from Brooklyn's Mikel Banks.

Mo's latest single 'Stupid Games' is already causing a storm within the industry, so don't sit on it.........
