'The City Will Go' begins the slow path that these 2 recordings lead you down. The song reads like a story of old, telling of how a city floods and the struggle of the survivors, vocalised through cello and harmonica feeding off each other until breaking point. 'Out in the Woods' has a sinister a sound, as you are likely to hear with cello providing stokes of noir along with an Eastern instrument of unknown origin creating a harmonically rich texture. Recorded entirely live in one room at Footpath Studios resulting in a beautifully natural sound as if you were hearing the songs being performed in a one-room hut over yonder. This is music from the backwoods.
