Danny Zelonky aka Low Res & Crank has been releasing outstanding eps and making compilation appearances for almost five years on distinguished labels like Sublime, Sony, Plug Research and Metroplex. Now Low Res finally releases his first album. Over the fourteen tracks on this cd, Danny crafts a tapestry of deep hauntingly warped melodies, subtle disonant sound effects, moody lo-fi bass and occassional crunchy downtempo jazzy percussion giving this release a "Coil meets Autechre and Phthalocyanine in a haunted old movie theatre" sound. Probably one of the deepest IDM listening experiences you'll hear this year. A beautifully unsettling cd. 8/10
