Imagine the future. Picture no more carbon based life-forms, a world populated by droids, where everything is possible, where things run like clockwork, ticking away in autonomy. Try to conceive of the music they must be listening to as they cruise the streets in their equivalent of gangsta cars. Then you're close to to the music of Lowfish.

This latest release by Gregory De Rocher, aka Lowfish, is a smoothie blend of phat danceable beats and bubblegum synth melodies, lying somewhere between the dark Detroit sound of Ersatz Audio and the analog sweetness of Isan or the Morr Music label's roster.

Six tracks of big mashed up bass lines, room shakin' TR-808 drums and swirling new wave robotic dance tunes, that leave you wanting more. Sometimes laidback, sometimes booty swinging, constantly evolving and changing, very playful and fun, without ever crossing line into embarrasing irony or cheesiness, and always being nudged along with the beefy low bass.

Released on Suction records, Gregory De Rocher's own label along with fellow synth-popster Jason Amm, the man behind Solvent, this record follows their tradition for melodic and well composed tune based electronic pop, and is a welcome addition to their catalogue.
